Item details

Inspiration happens at strange times. This one was today on the way home from work and I didn't notice that they had moved the exit ramp to get home. I had to drive a crazy loop to get back home. Oh Well... I think it was worth it!!

Lots of decadent fibers here. Seven colors of bamboo (some of them variegated so there are actually more than seven colors), a myraid of sari silk and three different firestar blends. All this creates a riot of color that can't be resisted.

Some of the bamboo in these batts was dyed by the FiberLady. Check out her etsy shop at www.fiberlady.etsy.com.

All the photos are of the same batt. The last picture of the spun yarn best captures the sheen to these batts. Your batt will be made with all the same colors and fibers. These are a little more lumpy and bumpy than my regular batts.

Contents: 70% bamboo, 20% firestar (nylon), 10% sari silk

4 oz.

This is truly my new favorite of all time!!!

Thanks for looking!! BGD

This batt will simply be an exercise in FUN! And if I have enough yarn to make a fashion scarf so much the better. With its lively color and os-so-much-texture this is a yarn you spin when you are happy or want to get happy! And better yet - the bamboo is easy to spin and spins very quickly. Yes, this is going to be fun.

Information on my spindles:

I get a lot of questions about whether or not my spindles will break. If they are dropped hard enough, some of them will definitely break.

For the stone and glass spindles, to be safe, you should only spin over carpet. I have not had a problem with the stone or glass on hardwood, but if dropped from high enough, it is possible they may break.

My spindles spin smoothly, however they have relatively small whorls and most are not rim weighted (although the cut of some of the stones, resin and glass do make the spindle more rim weighted). This means that you may have to start the spindle respinning for each length you spin before you wind on. I generally can spin to the floor on most of them without restarting, but a lot depends upon how fast you draft and how well prepared your fiber is. Most of my spindles spin very fast.

I am happy to do custom orders for both fiber and spindles.

Spindles: I have a lot of choices for spindles: stone, glass, shell, and resin. I would be happy to try to create a spindle for you.

Fiber: If I have the materials, I am happy to try to create a batt to your specifications. I use glitz in a lot of my batts, but I am happy to card one for you without the glitz, if you prefer.
