I'm sure there's a great story around the intriguing scene offered on this real photo postcard. The cleared trees across the river tell of the claiming of the land and the bridge shows that the area was well settled. The folks in the picture appear to be on a day outing and I'm wondering if the people in the canoe were with them.
The letter appears to be in Norwegian. The postmark isn't complete Coler... could be Coleridge, Nebraska. Wherever they may have been, this is truely a pioneering family and a great glimps at our history. The card is in very good condition with one light crease line, edge wear and minor soiling.
