This listing is for 1 - 4 ounce bag of naturally colored carded roving from Blue, a Romney - Rambouillet Cross Sheep. This is a hand selected fleece from a local flock, it was carded to my specifications at a local mill. The color is a charcol gray with chocolate undertones.
The fleece exhibited Romney characteristics in length but had much more crimp like a Rambouillet and is much softer than a typical Romney fleece. The natural color is lovely with wonderful depth. I would classify the fleece as adult close to skin, not quite as fine as a typical Rambouillet but nice and soft. Of course the feel of the finished yarn will vary greatly depending on how it is spun. This fleece is untreated and will felt.
You will receive a 4 ounce bag taken from a larger lot. The colors will vary slightly from bag to bag due to the preparation method of the roving. All bags listed are from the same lot.
The fiber comes from a pet friendly, smoke free home.
