Don’t just toss tea bags in your purse – keep them organized in a handy wallet, handmade by YOU! With this pattern, you’ll be able to create a little wallet that’ll securely hold four tea bags and/or sugar packets.

This SEWING PATTERN includes a set of step-by-step instructions and five pages of full-sized pattern pieces. For added clarity, each step is accompanied with a photo that’s labeled with descriptions describing that particular step. For my international friends, I’ve also included metric measurements.

In just thirteen easy steps and less than an hour, you’ll have a completed tea bag wallet!

I created this pattern with the beginner sewer in mind. However, it's a fun project for sewers of all levels of experience.

:: 1/4 yard (0.2 m) light to medium weight cotton fabric (exterior, top pocket, and closure)*
:: 1/4 yard (0.2 m) light to medium weight cotton fabric (lining and bottom pocket)*
:: 1/4 yard (0.2 m) lightweight fusible interfacing
:: 1 button (optional)
:: 1 piece of 3/4’’ (19 mm) x 1’’ (25 mm) heat-activated adhesive VELCRO
:: thread
:: pins
:: hand sewing needle
:: scissors
:: bone folder
:: press cloth
:: iron
:: 14/90 and 16/100 needles
:: sewing machine
:: 4 tea bags

* NOTE: This project may be made with scraps of fabric. If purchasing the listed amounts, you’ll have leftover fabric for future projects.

When closed, finished wallet measures approximately 2 7/8’’ (7.3 cm) wide and 3 7/8’’ (9.8 cm) tall.

The download for the pattern went smoothly with no problems. The pattern pieces are printed well, easy to read and easy to understand. I haven't made the tea wallet yet; however I can tell it will be an easy project as the directions are very explicit. This is a great project for odds and ends of fabric left over, or for Fat Quarters or even repurposing with any fabric (thrift sho items?) that may be on hand. Happy sewing!

GREAT pattern! Easy to follow, approachable, and exactly as described. I don't love using fusible velcro so I may adjust that portion of the pattern but it is no reflection on the quality of the pattern purchased. It's simply a matter of preference for me. :) Thank you for making this accessible to the public!
