This is a page from a book of drawings/cartoons published in 1903 of Chicago newspaper cartoonist John T. McCutcheons drawings. John Tinney McCutcheon (May 6, 1870 – June 10, 1949) was an American newspaper political cartoonist who was known as the "Dean of American Cartoonists". He moved to Chicago, Illinois, where he worked at the Chicago Morning News (later named the Chicago Record) and then at the Chicago Tribune from 1903 until his retirement in 1946. He received the Pulitzer Prize for Cartoons in 1932.

This particular cartoon is entitled "President Roosevelt Resting at Oyster Bay." Sagamore Hill in Oyster Bay, New York was Roosevelt's home.
