I handcrafted this penny rug in 2009. It is appliqued with buttonhole stitch. I utilized a 'raggy' primitive style along the edges. I used gray flannel for the background and flowers and stars and the tops of the pennies are created of red and black buffalo-checked flannel. The bottom of the pennies is herringbone suiting material. The backing of this piece is made of blue check homespun.
I think this would be an interesting addition to your primitive collection of crows or penny rugs. The red and greens, and gold stars will blend well with your prim decor.
