One of my own handmade electroformed lampwork beads. This one is donut shaped. I have used Reactive colors & Intense Black for the webbing & the center is lined with electroformed copper.
The electroforming is done after the bead is made & annealled. I coat the areas I want electroformed with a conductive paint & immerse the bead in a electrolytic solution. A low voltage current is run through the solution & pure copper is deposited on the bead. This process takes 18 to 24 hours but I love the effect!
This bead measures 26mm across & is 11mm deep. It was made on a 1/16" mandrel. The hole runs through the bead from top to bottom. There is enough room in the centre to string a pearl or bead about 7mm in size or smaller.
All my beads are made by me in my glass studio, properly kiln annealed in an Aim Bead Annealer with a digital controller & cleaned & inspected for flaws. I take great pride in my original designs as well as the quality of my work.
I prefer paypal.
