The Pony handbag is the little sister of the Overflow bag. It's a good roomy size and is fully lined with two internal pockets for keys and phone. The body of the bag measures 36cm high by 38cm wide (14" by 14.75") and the handles are roomy enough to put the bag on your shoulder (height of 26cm from top of bag – 10”).
This bag can be made in very little time (under 2 hours for someone who has sewn before) and can be a real showcase for a designer fabric. It makes a great last minute gift but I just love it as a simple funky style to show off something gorgeous from my stash. And it makes a great gift too! It’s possible to add an extra two pockets if you wish, and if you use a pretty fabric as your lining the bag is also reversible.
Apart from the obvious sewing basics the materials you'll need for this project are 60cm (24”) of a light weight fabric such as cotton homespun or poplin or a medium weight fabric like cotton drill or twill and 60cm (24”) in a light weight fabric like cotton poplin for the lining. All seam allowances have been included in the pattern pieces and are ¼” unless otherwise stated.
The pattern is supplied to you as two PDF files. One containing the instructions with colour pictures and tips to get you through. The other is a printer friendly file for the pattern itself. All pattern pieces have been carefully and accurately hand drawn with plenty of easy to read labelling. Just print on A4 or US Letter size paper and sticky tape the sheets together at the edges. These files are now available for instant digital download but I am still available to assist you at teapotandsnail [!at] gmail.com.
I am happy for you to sell your finished bags on Etsy as long as you credit Teapot & Snail as the designer on your page and do not mass produce the bag.

Obviously, due to the nature of the product, Teapot and Snail is not able to provide refunds on PDF patterns. However if you find for example that you have chosen a pattern that doesn't suit your needs, email me at email@example.com as I may be able to help you find a way to make the pattern more useful to you.
I have previously altered bag patterns/instructions to suit unusual sizes and to fit the needs of a person withe a disability. If you have a special need for a bag please let me know before purchasing and I will see what I can do.
