Item details

For ring makers comes this beautiful Buddha Eyes carved bone cabochon design featuring the eyes of Buddha in a peaceful, meditative pose.

This listing is for one piece only and is the smallest of three sizes that I have of these cabs.

All are crafted exclusively for me in Bali where Buddhism and other religions have had a big influence in shaping the type of Hinduism practised by most of the island's 4.2 million inhabitants.

One of these 20mm cabs would make a stunning ring - or buy a pair to make earrings - to match a pendant set with a larger 40mm cab that I stock.

You could also feature one of these artisan-carved pieces on a greeting card or a scrapbook page, and I think they'd also look great on luxury wedding invitations.

PayPal is my preferred method of payment.

You can find other piece in this range here -

Size: Approx 20mm (L) x 9mm (W)
Thickness: Approx 3mm
Pieces per pack: 1
Material: Bone, flat-backed, not drilled
Colour: White (putih), ivory or cream, depending on the age and density of the bone used to create the piece
Shipping: This item will ship from Ubud, Bali, via Pos Indonesia registered mail with a tracking number, and you will almost certainly have to sign for it upon delivery. It will be well packaged to protect it in transit, and the cost is included in the shipping fee. Please see my shop policies for further shipping details.

Bali is the biggest Hindu outpost outside of India but it's a hybrid form of the religion that incorporates elements of Buddhism, animism, and even Chinese Confucianism.

This religion is practised by more than 90 percent of Balinese as well as some residents of Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan, and Lombok, the little island to Bali's east. Together they represent only about 3 per cent of the population of Indonesia, the world's most populous Muslim nation state.

What might not be so widely known is that in Java, once predominantly Hindu, a substantial number of Muslims follow a non-orthodox, Hindu-influenced form of Islam known as Agama Jawa.

Crafting beautiful ornaments and jewelry pieces from animal bone is a time-honoured tradition on the island of Bali. Bone is a sturdy and versatile material that is durable enough to craft a treasured heirloom.

The bone used in Indounik cabs is from cattle and is sourced from neighbouring Java where the animals have been farmed for their meat and milk. It is carved in the village of Tampaksiring, home of Bali's best carvers of bone, horn and shell.
