This easy growing, open pollinated (OP) heirloom variety is over 100 years old, and one of the best lettuce varieties available.
Black Seeded Simpson lettuce is fast growing, and produces large heads of frilly light-green leaves with a crisp delicate flavor.
Plant successive plantings from early spring through to late fall. This variety is heat tolerant, and will grow throughout the hot summer months with adequate water. It is also cold tolerant, and will be the first to show in spring, and the last to survive the winter onslaught!
