Item details

Lot of 5 large holey fossil shell pieces from the Miocene epoch (about 23 - 5 million years old). Scallop shells with many holes. All worm or snail eaten and water worn. Delicate + lovely textures and patterns. Great distressed look. Sandy tan colors.

I collected these along the Calvert Cliffs in Southern Maryland. These worm eaten shells are one of my favorites to collect because the surf quickly smooths over any broken edges leaving each one unique and beautiful. These shells look great on the beach AND 8 inches from my face while I'm scrutinizing them :)

Pieces range from just under 2" to 3 5/8" long. My photos are not to scale, see penny in last photo for size comparison. You will receive exact items in photos.

#x21

FAQs

No, sorry. Unfortunately, I am horrible with a Dremel tool. The last time I attempted to drill a hole, the piece (and drill bit) ended up across the room.
