The kids in my tiny tots class loved this craft. Your child first colors a picture of a bird on a branch, and add some adhesive-backed leaves, but then the surprise begins. A brown sandwich bag scrunched down forms a nest that they can fill with "nest material" and finally pom-pom eggs. When you fold the coloring page in half and put the nest on the branch, the bird sits on her nest!
All of my craft kits assemble without scissors, glue or paint, and are designed for young crafters and those with limited abilities. I always include a suggestion for a book to read that reinforced the theme, alphabet letter, number or animal. They are great for one-on-one time, or as a homeschool or playgroup project.
