Most cats love lounging around. That is the feeling I wanted to convey in this quilt. Cats serve at our pleasure, or is it the other way around? No matter...
This quilt measures 37" wide x 32" long. Your quilt could be a different arrangement. The technique I used are fused applique and raw edge stitching. Each design is a single color to start, and additional color(s) are fused on top. That way you always know where the raw edge is. If the edges fray, it adds to the charm, making the cats more fuzzy.
There are six free videos on my website (www.critterpat.com) which show you how to make an appliqued quilt in any of the 75 themes I have designed. One of those videos actually features me sewing on the white cat, which was named Miss Kitty (after the bar maid in the TV series Gunsmoke). The background fabrics are sewn together crazy quilt style (random shapes are sewn together in a flip and sew method...it's easy). The quilting was done on the sewing machine with the darning foot (there is a video for that too). I quilted with the feed dogs working. That makes the stitches more even.
