The Busy Bunz Super Fit Wool Soaker Crochet Pattern

Note: This listing is for the Crochet Pattern only - not a finished item.

With its extra super stretchy back-loop-only construction, and its no-dig leg cuffs design, this wool soaker truly is a super fit for any baby. The back-loop-only construction allows the soaker to stretch to fit many sizes of babies, meaning that you may only need to make one or two sizes (likely just one!), instead of three or four. And unlike patterns that have leg cuffs which join on the sides of a row, these back-loop-only leg cuffs are worked straight off actual stitches and do not pull at the point of joining. Plus, it’s easy to crochet and super cute on those adorable little cloth-diapered bums!

The buttoned belt closure keeps my toddler’s cute little hands from unfastening and pulling it off, too! But a tie closure pattern is also included so that you can use whichever closure works better for you and your baby.

Size: Newborn (0-3 months), Regular (Newborn - 2.5 years) - See Note on Sizing
Yarn: Malabrigo Worsted 100% Merino Wool, Any Two Coordinated Colorways (A,B)
Hook: 5mm, US H
Gauge: 8 dc stitches (in main body of pattern) = 2” and 4 rows of dc stitches (in main body of pattern) = 2”
Difficulty: Easy/Advanced Beginner - This is a very simple pattern, requiring only knowledge of basic crochet stitches (sc, hdc, dc, etc.).
Pattern is written in American crochet terms. For UK crocheters, read sc as dc, hdc as htr, and tr as dtr.

A Note on Sizing:
The Regular Size fits most and may be the only size many babies need. It has been tested on several babies, on my own son, children of friends, as well as by ladies on Ravelry, and been found to fit babies from newborn to 2.5 years. Additionally, notes are provided in the pattern for adapting to fit various sizes of thighs for those who have particularly chunky or skinny thighs. For those who want a more snug fit during the newborn stage, the smaller size has been provided. The baby in the picture is 21.5 months old and weighs approximately 29 lbs.

Information on selling finished objects from my patterns may be found on my policies page.

I send the PDF via email within 24 hours of purchase (barring unforeseen extenuating circumstances, of course), and am available to answer any questions that come up in the crocheting process. Any corrections to my patterns will be posted on my facebook page at:

Average review
I love this final product my only issue is the sizing said up to 2.5 years and my son is barely two and it did not fit (he is on the small side too in the -3%) but I was able to add in a few stitches and rows while following the idea of the pattern and now it fits great!
