You are viewing a set of six huge, hand-carved buttons in the shape of what appears to be a hippo. Each measures approx. 2.25" wide x 1.25" high x 1/8" thick. Although the sizes and shapes are consistent, the design and color of each is slightly different. Possibly, they're made of horn or bone, but interestingly, when tapped against each other, they "clink" a bit - almost like petrified wood. Also, the backs of some have a subtle wood-grained texture. Each button has 7 holes. We poked toothpicks into them so you can see the locations: two on the top, one on each leg, and one in the eye. We also show one button which has been beaded - just to give you an idea how they could be used to make dangly pins!
See our other listings for a second set of these buttons where the hippos are facing right instead of left.
Domestic shipping rates have been calculated for California to New York destinations. If you live closer to the Left Coast, convo me for your specific (lower) rate. I do ship internationally as well. Just convo me for the cost.
All items will be shipped by US Priority Mail unless otherwise specified. Even though it's more expensive than First Class, your purchase stands a better chance of arriving in the same condition as when it left my care. Also, (unlike First Class), packages can be tracked - and postage can be printed online, which allows me to ship very quickly - often the same day payment is received.
PayPal payment is due within three days of your purchase. Please, no e-checks as it sometimes takes PayPal 6-10 days to clear them.

Please Note: Although I live in a smoke-free and pet-free household, the vintage clothing I sell is acquired from estate sales, consignments, and many other sources, so I cannot guarantee that the prior owners did not smoke, have pets, or use cologne. Given this situation, I take great care to air all fabric items thoroughly to help remove trace odors, but if you are severely allergic, please consider the above prior to purchasing.
