Item details

I always need my scissors nearby while I'm sewing and this is a great way to keep them close at hand! Don't worry about your scissors being to heavy either those really are full size scissors in the picture and that pincushion really is holding them up there!

*These are not standard sewing patterns. They are quilters patterns! Meaning they come with instructions and measurements and a few templates. They are typically made using a rotary cutter, quilter's ruler, and cutting mat. For the best possible experience making my patterns I recommend having these items. A great place to find them is at*

This is a great long pincushion that will help keep the friendship between you and your scissors going strong! It keeps them close at hand and is heavy enough to sit at your sewing machine or table, hold your scissors, and catch all the threads that fall from your sewing machine.

Conclusion: a perfect tool and peacemaker for your sewing room!

The Pin-up Girl Pincushion
is a Fat Sew Pattern
by Designing Happy

All Fat Sew Patterns are fat quarter friendly!

Here is the pattern info quoted from the back.

Supplies -
2 Contrasting fat quarters, 1 yd. trim, 18” plastic edge insert, ground walnut shells pincushion filling.

-Remember contrasting is important but make sure they blend!
-The plastic edge insert is simply a long zip tie or 1/2" wide or thinner piece of stiff plastic. I have used the strapping used to package and wrap large boxes! (That's actually my favorite type to use! :) )

The finished size of this pincushion is 4 1/2" x 7" un-stuffed while the bag hangs approx 10"-11" long depending how far you set it back on your counter.
It should have approx 5" of the hanging tag and around 5"-6" of bag depth. It's a great height for your hands while sewing and shoving ripped out threads into the trash, or all your perfectly trimmed fabric scraps :) However you choose to look at it!

At this point this pattern is only available to be mailed in physical form not emailed or downloaded. I suppose I could email it in several emails and jpegs if you really want it that way but I don't currently have the ability to put all the instructions into one pdf file. So, you will be burdened with a beautiful pattern to sit on your shelf and await your crafty hands... no printing required!
