Item details

The Get Smitten Sew Tidy! is a portable fabric bag with matching pincushion that keeps your workspace free from sewing and yarn debris!

This simple item has revolutionised my studio & sewing time! Gone are the days where the floor is covered in bits of thread and off-cuts of fabric (which then get carried around the rest of the house via my socks!). It is also just as useful for when you crochet, knit, cross stitch or needlepoint!

The weighted section also doubles as a pincushion so you can keep everything close to hand and no longer need to keep your pins in your mouth! You simply place it onto your work desk, table top or chair arm - in fact wherever you may be whilst crafting. The Sew Tidy! is light enough to accompany you on all your sewing adventures and allows you to keep your immediate environment mess free!

This listing is for the pdf pattern for the Sew Tidy! and will be available for download as soon as your payment is confirmed

Being very easy to make, it is an ideal beginner’s project but such a handy tool that expert sewists will want one too! I can't believe I went so long without one... seriously

For this project you will need...

* 2 fabrics that work well together

* measuring & cutting equipment - a rotary cutter and mat or scissors and ruler/tape measure

* ribbon in a contrasting colour

* rice or sand

This project can be hand or machine sewn and is suitable for all levels as there are no fasteners or zippers

... and if you'd like to buy a pre-made Sew Tidy! please convo me for more info - I'd be delighted to make one for you!

Happy sewing!

FAQs

What is a fat quarter, I hear you cry?! It is a term widely used in the patchwork and crafting world that denotes a quarter of a meter of fabric. In order to give a more useful area to work with, they take a meter of fabric and quarter it by length and width so that you have a 'fat' quarter rather than a long one They are 18 x 22" or 45 x 55cm

If you require pieces of vintage fabric larger than a fat quarter, please message me with you requirements. I have enough in stock I am happy to oblige. My fabrics are pre-loved sheeting and so are not available by the meter or yard as with traditional fabrics - please let me know your desired size and will measure the amount I have left in stock If you purchase multiples of one fabric, I will always try to provide it as one cut piece wherever possible. I will message you before dispatching your order if this is not possible
