BitsyKnits Custom Carded Rovings from local fleece are hand selected by Bitsy from her favorite breeders. This beautiful, soft American Miniature Cheviot fleece comes from Bucks County, PA.
American Miniature Cheviot produce a fleece averaging from 4 - 8 pounds with a micron count from 25 -32 microns. The carded fleece is easy to spin for experts and novices and the resulting yarn is perfect for garments and home decor projects. QE II's fleece is nice and soft, I would find it perfect for a sweater, mittens or socks. When spun woolen, it has a slight halo that gives the yarn and the finished fabric a lovely glow. Cheviot will felt and take dye well although I do recommend spinning prior to dyeing to take the opportunity to enjoy the spinning experience of working with this unique breed.
This listing is for a 4 oz bag of QE II Ewe. Each bag is taken from a full fleece from QE II that was processed for me at Gurdy Run Woolen Mill. There is more of this fiber available, convo Bitsy to create a listing with your custom quantity.
