From Heritage Trading Company
This traditional motif was jacquard-woven in metallic gold and rose on a very dark rose background.
The elements of this design—the quatrefoil, cross, and trefoil—recall Medieval Gothic patterns. This particular motif of a cross with trefoil ends, set inside a quatrefoil, and enclosed by a circle was later popular in the 19th century, when it appeared as a component in published designs by Franz Sales Meyer and Augustus Welby Pugin.
