It's happened. I've officially entered the "baby-season" of life. Here a pregnant friend, there a pregnant friend, everywhere a pregnant friend. And friends aren't the only ones - I myself am due (again) in September!
Like many of my patterns, this one was created because of a need. I needed a beautiful baby gift and I needed it FAST! The Granny-Star Blanket was the answer. It works on much the same principle as a granny square blanket: 3 dc stitches in a well defined space. Because of this, it carries with it much of the speed of a granny square blanket; very little looking is required, so one can just motor right along!
THIS PATTERN IS VERSATILE! With a thinner cotton yarn, such as Wendy Supreme Luxury Cotton DK and suitably sized hook, this pattern would make a lovely summer circular shawl; or with a smoother worsted weight yarn, such as Vanna's Choice, and suitable hook, this would make a lovely fall / spring ladies circular shawl or wheelchair blanket.
Please note: Both the US and UK versions are included in this instant download.
Yarn: James C. Brett Marble Chunky any Two Coordinated Colorways - A, B
Yarn Substitutions: Any chunky yarn will work well. Lion Brand Homespun would be a comparable alternative to the yarn shown.
Gauge: 1 Sh = 2”, 2 Rows = 2” (But Gauge is not critical.)
