One ounce (28.3 g) of Zephyr 2/18 made from 50% fine grade Merino wool; 50% Chinese Tussah silk from a company based in the US. Lace-weight yarn is great for knitting patterns such as the springtime bandit on ravelry. This color is called Ruby. It is really hard to capture the nuances between similar colors such as Chanel or Claret. Please convo me for a sample for a better color match. One ounce yields approximately 315 yds (288 m). This ball is designed to be center-pull with the other end being taped to the label. Dye lot # 18486. Colors can vary from monitor to monitor or screen. Please write for a free sample if you are unsure of color or thickness.
Because wool and silk accept dyes differently, the fabric made from this yarn may have a slightly "tweedy" look in some shades. Due to the difficulities inherent in dyeing wool-silk, some shades may be less resistant to fading in light and water than 100% wool. For this reason, the manufacturer recommends that wool-silk garments not be exposed to natural or artificial light for prolonged periods and that they be dry-cleaned only. Myself, I hand wash with shampoo and dry flat.
This yarn will felt. It can be used in conjunction with other yarns to make knitted (or crocheted), felted hats, bags, etc.
Convo me if you need a larger quantity than what is listed.

Shipping & policies
Items will be shipped within 3 business days after receipt of payment. All shipping is via US Postal Service. Items under 13 oz are shipped first class post with delivery confirmation. Packages over 13 oz are shipped parcel post within the US, but still qualify for first class international. Items over $50 will be insured. If you prefer a different carrier, please contact me.
Pennsylvania's new tax law: All items shipped from PA must charge PA tax (Point of Origin sales tax). At present, there is no tax on food, shelter or clothing. Yarn is considered a raw material for making clothing. Therefore no sales tax. Books and tools are taxable and have the tax included in the price.
Returns & exchanges
In order to keep costs low, most items are shipped first class international. Typically that means shipping takes a week or less to Canada, two weeks to Europe and three weeks to Australia. However, the US Postal service has no way to track it once it leaves US soil. Other airports are notoriously bad at logging the information into the database. If an item fails to reach you in 30 days, you have a choice of replacement or refund. And please don't be shy about letting me know if you are worried about a lost package.
If you need an item sooner, convo me to arrange Priority International, which does have tracking and will arrive much sooner for an additional price. Price is dependent on how heavy your order is. Convo me to get a quote and arrange it.
