Crows are almost universal around the world. They are clever and social have good memories, and fascinating. Besides that they make good design subjects. You can use my designs are silhouettes or draw in the details with gray stitching. My finished quilt is 35" wide x 26" high. Yours could be any size you like by adding more non-appliqued strips to you arrangement.
The technique I used is raw edge applique. I teach you how to do this in the pattern, but there is a video on my website: www.critterpat.com which shows me stitching this technique (it is the second video in the group of six showing how to make a Critter Pattern Works quilt). I also discuss in the 17 page pattern, different designs that you might want to quilt in the backgrounds. There are seven pages of full sized drawings for the seven Crows on the quilt, and a page of feather designs you can use for the quilting designs in the border.
