In Greek, the work Coreopsis translates to “bug-like,” which is what the seed resembles. This is the tallest coreopsis. It has small flowers with dark brown centers, rather than the yellow centers of other species. Tall Coreopsis is more impressive when it occurs in colonies, rather than as a stand-alone specimen. Each plant tends to sway with every breeze during a sunny afternoon, looking like yellow butterflies flitting around, and reaches about 5' tall in an airy fashion.
Very drought and heat tolerant, dear resistant, and almost disease free.
Flower equals about 1”- 2 1/3” wide. Branched cluster (cyme) of many flower heads. This flower will continuously blooms from June through October or until the first killing frost. They are also beautiful as cut flowers in a vase.
