Item details

Isle of Tanatus is a two-ply fingering weight yarn that I spun on my Kromski Symphony spinning wheel.

The color is a beautiful deep blue with bright spots of color througout. Imagine the sea and sky meeting off of eastern coast of Kent, England where the Isle of Thanet (also known as Tanatus) is to be found. The flecks of white remind of the Upper Chalk, while the rusts and other flecks of color that seem to change the longer you look at them remind of the snakes that the soil of Tanatus is said to kill if brought to another nation.

This skein is next-to-skin soft. It is plied evenly to provide a beautiful drape. It took quite some time to finish, much more than a single ply thread masquerading as lace yarn. This one of a kind yarn is strong with a beautiful sheen.

This yarn is especially suitable for lace edging on a garment, but don't let me dictate to your creativity.

Estimated Shipping
Shipping to
Zip or postal code

I ship via USPS, usually first class with delivery confirmation. If you require overnight shipping or any other special service, please contact me. All orders are shipped within three days of receipt of payment. I may not be held responsible for any items lost during shipping (as long as I am able to provide you with proof of shipping). You are responsible for any taxes or fees levied by your country.

Payments

I accept credit cards, paypal, and money orders. All items are shipped after I have received payment from you, so if you choose to mail me a money order, shipping will be delayed until after it has been cashed.

All sales are final unless there is a problem with the product. I am happy to work with you to make you happy, so please contact me with any concerns that you have. Please be aware that the last few yards of a yarn may not be consistent with the rest of it (only 2 plies on a 3 or more ply yarn, for example), and this is not a defect. I just opt to include that end bit just in case you need just a few more inches in order to finish binding off. That yardage is not included in the yardage count for the yarn. Unfortunately, discovery that a particular yarn isn't the best choice for the project that you had in mind does not qualify it for a refund.

Returns & exchanges

All sales are final and refunds are not available. All of my products are carefully inspected before they are shipped to you. Please contact me if you have a problem. I will work with you to make you happy.

Additional policies

It has been brought to my attention that some people may be concerned that my yarns and other products are frequently photographed on plants. If you are allergic to pollen or some other outside thing that you fear may have attached itself to a product, please contact me. I will gladly rewash any yarn in wool wash for you before shipping. Please understand that due to drying time, this may add a few days of delay to shipping.

If you leave a note with your order, I am happy to wind any yarn into a center-pull cake for you. Do be aware that this may not be the greatest idea for any slippery yarn (like silk) as sometimes the cakes can get a bit tangled during the shipping process. I can also wind the yarn into a ball (just not center pull) for you.
