This garter stitch shawl is basically a large rectangle gathered into ties.
Included in the pattern are photos, a complete list of abbreviations, a stitch glossary and schematic.
Level: Advanced beginner to intermediate.

PLYMOUTH YARN, Chunky Merino Superwash (100% superwash fine merino wool; 109yds, 100grams)

Needles & Notions
Size 10.5/6.5mm needles or size needed to get gauge

1 stitch holder and 1 double pointed needle size 10.5/6.5mm

Waste yarn, preferably a cotton in a contrast color

Yarn sewing needle

Gauge
13 stitches and 28 rows = 4in/10cm in garter stitch

Notes: Knit a large rectangle in garter stitch. Knit a row of pleats and then a row of K3tog to reduce the number of stitches. One side of the bow is knitted single and the other end is knitted double, one end slipping through the other.
