This online class puts a new spin on "knotless netting", one of the more familiar forms of looping. Video lessons, PDF handouts and coaching on a private course site help you build a solid foundation of thread control skills and learn to design projects that suit your own tastes and materials.
In-depth lessons include:
-- basic technique (videos and PDFs for both right-handed and left-handed stitchers), with a focus on tension and thread control and understanding the looping structure.
-- increases and decreases for shaping
-- working with and without molds and lost forms
-- round base
-- oval base
-- flat panels, and turning flat panels into 3D forms
-- different ways to add thread
-- ideas for looping with different materials
-- learning to design looping projects
Each of four main lesson units includes 4 to 5 video units (a total of 30 to 45 minutes of video per lesson), plus PDF handouts that are delivered as Etsy digital downloads. The second half of the course includes supplementary material, but the focus is on gaining experience by stitching projects of your own design.
Upon purchase, your class handouts will be available via Etsy digital download immediately. An email with your password and access information to the course site will come within 36 hours.
Your online classroom is open 24/7. The format is built around a suggested 8-week study period, because some people benefit from having that frame of reference. But this is a self-paced course with no expiration date: If work, travel, family commitments or other events conflict with your class, you can just put it on hold until the timing is better for you.
All class registrations are handled right here: To reserve your space in this class, click the green "Add To Cart" button on the right of this screen. Once payment is confirmed, you'll be able to download your PDF handouts. Then you'll receive an email with instructions on how to access the course site, along with your username and a password.

Looping is an ancient stitching tradition that continues to evolve as contemporary fiber artists give it their own twist. There are endless possibilities to explore in this versatile family of techniques, which includes cross-knit looping (register for that online class at https://www.etsystudio.com/listing/117050101/online-workshop-cross-knit-looping ). I hope to see you in a class soon!
