This is a really nicely detailed vintage stamping. The steel base under the nickel plating is a thicker gauge of steel as it was made decades and decades ago. There is nickel in the steel,so a magnet does stick to it. If you or your customers are nickel sensitive or have nickel allergies but still really love it, you should either attach it to something like a silver plated brass filigree backing or spray 3-4 light coats (each additional coating applied within 3 minutes of the last one) of a non-toxic lacquer such as Ace Hardware's spray polyurethane clear satin finish at least to the back where it will touch the skin. The Ace product that I specified above is non-toxic after it dries, and that is why I use it. Most others are not non-toxic after they dry or at least they don't say so on their labels. The Ace Hardware brand says that it is non-toxic after it dries. This stamping is "new old stock" or stock that has been stored in old jewelry manufacturers warehouses or in the stockrooms of now defunct large jewelry manufacturers mostly here in the east for decades upon decades. It has never been circulated or used before.
This is a stamping and is 66mm across or 2 5/8" and 41mm top to bottom or 1 5/8"
This is one of the nicest vintage filigree stampings in silver that I have seen in a long long time.
