Item details

This listing is for a 30-page e-pattern to make your very own Be There or Be Square Handkerchief Skirt for babies size 6-9m up thru girls size 12.

This skirt has elastic at the waist for easy on and off. No buttons, zippers or other fasteners.

Ever wonder how to hem a square corner? No worries – I've included step-by-step directions and photos to make neat, professional-looking mitered corners.

The pattern is super-easy and quick to make up. It has over 50 photos to illustrate the easy to follow step-by-step directions. It has all the pattern pieces with seam allowances already included. I've even included a "quick cut" guide if you prefer to measure and cut the pieces directly instead of working with paper pattern pieces.

Seam allowances are 1/4”. Hems are 1/2”.

This skirt can be made with a wide variety of fabrics: cotton, cotton blends, silk, satin, silky polyester – or anything else that will drape nicely once it has been made into a skirt.

This pattern is perfect for beginners or experienced seamstresses alike!

Included in the tutorial are instructions to make it as a single-layer skirt (with four points at the hem) or as a double-layer skirt (with eight points at the hem).

Supplies needed to make this skirt:
• Fabric (length charts provided in pattern)
• 1" Non-Roll Elastic
• Ruler
• Water or Air-Soluble Fabric Marker
• Coordinating Thread
• Safety Pin
• Iron & Ironing Board
• Scissors
• Sewing Machinge & General Sewing Supplies
• Tape

Just ask if you have any questions and thanks for looking!

Two PDF pattern files will be available for instant download as soon as your payment is confirmed. You will also be sent a link to download the pattern at a later time. (Link sent to the email address you have associated with your etsy account.)

I found this pattern relatively easy to make once I realised that the waist was gathered. I have attached it to a Tee Shirt top, and am making a few more for Grandchildren. The sizes were spot on also. Altogether pleased with the pattern.

I made this pattern in a double layer in about 2 hours. I think that is really great for the first time. This skirt will work up so fast once I make more! The pattern was well written and looks very professional when complete! Thanks!!! We love it!!
