Item details

This listing is for a PDF pattern only -- NOT an actual hat!

A set of instructions for a slightly slouchy beanie with cool chevron stripes! The bold geometric pattern reminds me of stegosaurs spikes, my favorite dinosaur as a child. Bohemian, funky, zig-zag happy.

Sizes: 6 month Baby and Adult

The baby size has a slight elfin point at the crown. The adult size has a six-pointed star detail (see pics) because of the shaping and color changes. The yarn is knit at a looser gauge (using larger needles) than usually recommended, to create a drapey, lightweight hat that is comfortable for year-round wear.

One of the colors used is a self-striping yarn. Experiment with different color combinations! Uses DK weight yarn and and knits up fast. Size US 3 needles for the brim and US 10 for the rest.

Intermediate level-- you must be comfortable with: knit, purl, s2kp, m1L, m1R, slip stitch. Keep close track of stitch count and rows.

Pattern has been error-checked. Let me know if you have any questions about this pattern or any others in my shop:
