Turn pretty patterned ribbon into a set of stacking bracelets. All you need to make your own is a few tools and some inexpensive hardware. If you’re making these bracelets as a gift, adding a bracelet extender is an easy way to ensure fit if you’re unsure of your gift recipient’s wrist size. For extra sparkle, stitch a strand of rhinestones onto one of your finished bracelets. You’ll never look at ribbon the same way again.

You will need

Step 1: Measure your wrist

Measure your wrist with a tape measure.

Step 2: Cut ribbon

Remove 1/2 in. / 1 cm. from wrist measurement and cut that length from the ribbon.

Step 3: Add ribbon crimps to both sides of ribbon

Slide ribbon into crimp and press down using your needle-nose pliers to secure into place (this should be tight). Repeat the process on the other side of ribbon.

Step 4: Open a jump ring

Use two needle nose pliers to open your jump ring. Tip: The best way to open a jump ring is by twisting ends in opposite directions. Pulling ends apart could break your jump ring.

Step 5: Attach jump ring to ribbon crimp

Slide jump ring onto the hoop of your crimp.

Step 6: Add a lobster clasp

Add a lobster clasp.

Step 7: Close jump ring

Close jump ring with your chain-nose pliers.

Step 8: Add jump ring on the other side

Add a jump ring to the other side. If you’re making this bracelet as a gift, now is the time to attach a bracelet extender. If you’re attaching rhinestones, cut them to your desired length and stitch them on using complementary thread.
