Step 1: Measure your carrier oil

Use a measuring cup to measure ½ cup / 120 ml. sweet almond oil. This is your carrier oil – it will carry the scent into the reeds and diffuse it into the room.

Step 2: Add carrier oil to diffuser bottle

Using a funnel, carefully pour your carrier oil into the diffuser bottle.

Step 3: Mix in rubbing alcohol

Add 2 tsp. / 9 ml. of rubbing alcohol to the oil in the bottle. This will make the oil lighter, allowing it to travel up the diffuser reeds.

Step 4: Add your essential oils

Now comes the fun part: it’s time to choose your scent! Play with pairing your favorite essential oils until you find a combination you like. Looking for a recommendation? Here are a few of our favorites: Bergamot + patchouli; rose + vetiver; lavender + eucalyptus; pine + bergamot.

Once you land on a favorite, add 20-30 drops of each scent to the oil and alcohol mixture until you reach the balance you like. Swirl the bottle to incorporate. Tip: Go heavier or lighter on a particular scent to play with the notes.

Step 5: Finish with reeds

To finish, add your diffuser reeds to the glass bottle. Place in a safe area where the bottle isn’t at risk of being knocked over by pets or children. In a few hours, the scent will travel up the reeds and diffuse throughout the room. So fresh!
