Bags & Beads began as a Home-school Sewing Project.
We started selling bags 12 years ago. In 2006 I was homeschooling my 4 daughters & we decided to attempt a sewing project. They all picked out a bag/purse pattern to try.
They were very proud of their projects so they took them to church. Their friends asked if they could have a bag in their school colors. Their Sunday School teachers requested diaper bags.....so we decided we should make some & try to sell them at an upcoming craft show.
Custom orders were still coming in & we were trying to stock purses for the show. We decided to name the different styles we were designing. We used all our names; then, as we designed more styles, we used names of grandmothers, aunts, sisters-in-law, cousins, etc.
Craft shows lead to in-home parties. We took our in-stock bags & also took our fabrics so ladies could design their own. This was a big hit! We did this for 6 years & I have many faithful customers in Florida!
Well, when we found out we were moving to Montana, we knew we would have to keep in touch with our Florida customers, so we heard about Etsy & decided to give it a try!
All the larger purses & bags have many inside pockets to keep you organized & I try to use washable fabrics. We keep coming up with new ideas & styles. Come browse my shop & let me know if I can be of any assistance to you!!
With 70 orders to fill between thanksgiving & Christmas my embroidery machine broke down so I purchased a second Bernina so this will never happen again. Many items show they can be monogrammed. If you see an item that does not have a monogramming/personalization option please ask before ordering. Some items are already made & cannot be monogrammed.

I buy my fabrics in small amounts; so if you see something you like, you better buy it because you may not see anything like it again. Feel free to look at my "Sold Orders". I might be able to make something "similar" but not exactly the same.
I add new items frequently so check back regularly to see new & exciting things. I am always thinking up new items to create!!
If you order an item that will be monogrammed, please leave that info in the "note to seller" box when checking out". If you don't leave the required info, your item will either be made without the personalization (embroidery charge will be refunded) or your order will be canceled & refunded.
Make sure you check out my clearance section. This section has items that I have had for a while or styles that I am discontinuing or changing.

Accepted payment methods
If you are paying by personal check, I will wait until payment to clears to ship your item. If it is a custom order I will not make the item until payment clears.
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR ETSY ADDRESS IS UP TO DATE. If you need it shipped to another address, please let me know immediately as some orders ship the same day.
If the tracking shows that the item(s) was delivered & you claim you never receive it, a refund cannot be given.
Packages/Envelopes under 16 oz ship first class. Items over 16 oz will ship priority mail. You will receive a notification of shipment & a tracking number. Some listings will have the option to upgrade to Priority 2-3 day mail.
I ship smaller items in bubble envelopes. For larger items requiring a box, I recycle boxes so your box might have other advertisements on them.
For international orders I ship First Class International to keep costs affordable. The length of time it will take to reach it's destination varies upon destination it could be 4-6 weeks. If you would like to have your items sooner there are other options.
Priority international which would be in 6-10 days and Priority international express would be in 3-5 days. If you are an international customer & would like one of these options, please message me & I can quote you a price for these services.
About custom/vat fees: International customers are responsible for all fees imposed, including import taxes, customs duties, and fees levied by the buyer's country. Additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by the recipient; I have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be. Customs policies vary widely from country to country; you should contact your local customs office for further information. When customs clearance procedures are required, it can cause delays of weeks or months. All international orders will have full value declared on customs forms - no exceptions. I do not refund original shipping charges for buyers who refuse items due to not wanting to pay the customs charges applied by their country.
It can take from two weeks to several months for international shipments to clear customs. If you have not received an international shipment within three weeks, check with your country's customs.
PLEASE NOTE <Seller is NOT responsible for customs fees and import taxes imposed on Buyer by their country of residence. Falsifying customs declaration forms in order to help a Buyer avoid these taxes and fees is against the law, and comes with a punishment of up to $10,000 USD with the possibility of up to 5 years of imprisonment. Seller is not responsible for calculating import fees. Buyer may use the tool found at the web site below to estimate import fees; however, be aware the fees may be higher since this calculator does not include fees charged by postal service or carriers for handling the duty or tax.

Again, please give me all the info required in making your item. If I have to contact you regarding a name to be embroidered & wait for your reply, this could delay production time.
