Weaving is one of my passions
A friend taught me to knit when our daughter was born in 1970. I soon was knitting up a storm and eventually began the daunting task of finding good yarns, especially wool. In the early 80's I became friends with a woman who taught me to spin. This was about the time our two children joined the 4-H Lamb Club and so began our career as sheep farmers. I was spinning yarn faster than I could knit. There had to be a faster way to produce a wonderful garment. There was - WEAVING. It became one of my passions. I love weaving cloth and letting it tell me what it wants to be - a jacket, a cape, a blouse, etc. I still enjoy going back to my roots of knitting and adding it to a woven garment. I also sell my handspun wool yarns to hand knitters.
Over the years I have taken numerous classes and workshops from nationally know fiber artists. As a juried memer of the Pittsburgh Craftsmen Guild and a member of the Fiberarts Guild of Pittsburgh, my education in fiber arts continues each day. I like to create one of a kind articles of clothing, using simple lines in design, never using the same colors or yarns.
