Playing with Fire
Wow, melting glass, how magical is that?
Hi, I'm Linda James of flameonglass & even after 15 years of doing it myself, I still think this is amazing.
In fact, for many years, even though the idea always fascinated me, I did not know it was possible for someone to just, well... go ahead and do anything that crazy-awesome.
But one day, through the power of the internet and a little search engine called 'Google', I came across something called lampworking and that was pretty much it for me.
Of course, Living on a farm in the Interior of British Columbia, local resources were non existent. No classes, no beadmaking supplies and worst of all, no other beadmakers. Luckily, more research netted me online glass suppliers, lampwork forums, lots of 'eye candy' and a big addiction.
Somehow, working on my own, I managed to get skillful enough along the way to make a little money pursuing this wonderful obsession and here I am!
Now I live on Salt Spring Island & I still love playing with fire, love it when the glass reveals it's secrets and I really love that there are others out there that appreciate this amazing medium and my small talents in it.
I am a glass addicted mother of 4 living on a small island off the coast of British Columbia. I melt glass, & my husband & I make recycled wooden folk art that we sell locally. It's a pretty great life. Cheers!
The beads shown here are the actual beads you will receive. They are already made & ready to ship!
All my beads are made by me in my glass studio, properly kiln annealed & cleaned & inspected for flaws. I take great pride in my original designs as well as the quality of my work.
