Garden Bon Bons artist in residence
Back in landscape architecture school in the early 90s I read about the naughty guerilla gardening movement. Seed balls were a part of it and I never forgot them. They are a fascinating, low-tech, effective tool for labor-saving seed dispersal, used around the world for reclaiming deserts, no-till gardening and helpful in bioengineering. Fabulous!
When I was pulling together a gift basket a few years ago I though they would be a fun item. Unfortunately the seed balls (or bombs) themselves lacked panache in their presentation. They work well in clod form for chucking in the dark and growing things, but they really do not make much sense as straightforward gifts. Ever the food-obsessed, I noticed the similarity to chocolate truffles and realised that the gap in presentation was actually an opportunity. And so it goes. The Garden Bon Bons were the first effort, then the Garden Pops, and various incarnations.
Recently I started working on my own line of essential soaps, soaks and candles that realise my vision for a natural line that borrows from the garden.
Owner, Maker, Designer, Curator
I am a landscape architect and lifelong gardener. My grandmother taught me to water petunias and vegetables shortly after I started walking. I enjoy finding humour in life, good food and elegant design. Stay tuned.

The Blessing Voodoo Doll Sachets are printed by Spoonflower.
My Garden bon bons are gourmet handrolled seed balls presented in an attractive box with a descriptive menu and planting instructions. They are a thoughtful, witty and healthy alternative to a box of candy - these truffles are for planting, not for eating! Both novice and expert gardeners will enjoy this gift.
