The Creation of My Shop Jim's Stones & Jewelry
I was a practicing Family Physician for over two decades. Long before that, during my childhood, I was always interested in rocks, minerals, gems & fossils. Over the years I amassed a huge collection of rough specimens and tumbled stones. Once I felt that my collection was as complete as I could get, I became interested in faceted gemstones and their added beauty over rough materials. Slowly I purchased all of the necessary equipment (refractometer, loupes, dichroscope, spectroscope, UV lights, multiple filters, microscope) and taught myself how to use all them in order to study and identify the specimens in my collection. Once I felt 100% comfortable with my own abilities utilizing all the "tools of the trade" so to speak, I started putting my knowledge to work and began identifying & setting precious and semi-precious gems into finished jewelry. Initially I started selling on Craigslist and found many people enjoyed my work. It wasn't until a friend suggested that I give Etsy a try and so here I am now with my own shop.
Due to a chronic progressive neurological condition, I was forced to stop practicing Medicine in late 2015 so opening my etsy shop was the logical way to utilize my hobbies as a way to continue working independently without being forced to go on disability.
I am also an avid collector of vintage U.S. coinage and enjoy the history behind each piece so I decided to add U.S. coins to my shop. I have an incredibly large amount of vintage coins of various denominations and dates that were obtained over the last several decades.
If you have any questions concerning anything you see in my shop, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Welcome to my etsy shop. I have always had a fascination with what Mother Nature has created and left for us to enjoy. My passion for gemstones is insatiable. I also love to spread my knowledge of gemology to others as well. Regards, Warren
I try to keep my prices as low as possible in order to allow everyone to have the opportunity to purchase something they like.
I recently began adding vintage U.S. coins to my shop and expect to start selling a wide array of denominations in the near future.
Please check back often as I usually add several items per week in each category of merchandise.
Lastly, if you do not see what you are looking for in my shop, please contact me. I have a large inventory of items that I have yet to post. There is a possibility that I might just have what you need and if I don't, I can try to locate exactly what you need through the network of gemstone dealers that I work with.

Sometimes there are issues with the customs agency of your country, so expect that there might possibly be a delay in delivery of your item. Please note, once a package leaves the United States, there is nothing I can really do to find out exactly where your package might be. If there is an issue, please use the customs number I provided with your order and contact your country's customs agency to find out when you may expect to receive your item.
Additionally, for both domestic and international orders, please understand that I cannot be held responsible for incorrectly delivered packages, stolen packages or items lost by the United States post office or your country's postal service. In these cases, I will do my best to work with you to locate your package with the tracking number provided by USPS or in international shipping cases the customs number for your package. This also includes items being returned to me for refunds or exchanges as well.

Additional policies and FAQs
PLEASE NOTE: Items that are deemed to be damaged by improper handling or cleaning on the part of the purchaser are not covered under this warranty.
It is highly advised that you inspect your gemstone or jewelry piece very carefully immediately upon receipt because after the thirty day warranty period expires from the original receipt date, I cannot issue any refunds or exchanges for any purchase of any kind. This is in part due to the large number of attempted scams that force me to strictly adhere to this policy.
I have included some tips and pointers below to aid you in taking better care of your merchandise and specific cleaning techniques to help minimize potential damage occurring to your jewelry or gems.
Many of my gemstone jewelry items can be fragile if not protected from knocks and bumps due to their hardness scores on the Moh's scale. Care must be taken by the buyer to protect against damage especially rings as they are the type of jewelry most susceptible to damage and softer, more brittle gemstones, for example, opals and gemstones with lower Moh's numbers.
Care must also be taken when cleaning certain gemstones. Never use ANY harsh chemicals or ultrasonic cleaning on ANY items purchased from my shop. Using plain mild soap and warm water with an ultra soft toothbrush is the best cleaning method. This will help avoid damage to the gemstones used in creating some of my jewelry items and the gemstones themselves.
If you have any additional questions on how to take care of and protect your specific gemstone or jewelry piece, please do not hesitate to contact me. I would be more than happy to share my knowledge with you.
ENJOY YOUR PURCHASE!!!!
