Embroidery is fun, relaxing and good for your brain. That's why I decided to give it a try.
I have a group of very good female friends and we meet every Saturday in a coffee bar in Amsterdam to have a cup of tea and catch up with the latest news. They always bring their knitting projects with them and discuss the techniques they are using, the yarns they just bought and the patterns they want to follow. Since I'm not a knitter I always sat there, envying somehow the coziness of being able to do something beautiful with your hands while talking to others.
Two years ago I decided to join them with an embroidery project, just to give it a try and mostly to be part of their crafty energy. I'm an illustrator and around that time I was thinking of doing something different with my own illustrations, rather than just printing them on paper. Embroidery felt like the right thing to do: it feels like painting, coloring, designing and sketching at the same time but somehow it is funnier than drawing empty lines in front of the computer on your own. It is very relaxing and perfect to combine with a conversation and a nice cup of tea with friends (always making sure the tea does not ruin your work!) but it is also a very calming activity when doing it on your own.
That is how I began this incredible journey. Now the time has come to share my creations with the Etsy community.
I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
