From making a Christmas present for my grandson, I created a unique line of shelves to fit a variety of purposes.
One Christmas my daughter showed me pictures of displays that held Lego Minifigures and asked me if I would build one for my grandson Jay.
Looking at the displays that were on Pinterest, I felt that they were all static and displayed the minifigures like rows of soldiers. So I created natural edged wooden shelves that invite interaction between the figures. Some of the figures even ended upside down in the display! This encouraged story telling between the minifigures.
All of my designs are one of a kind because the particular pieces of wood used have a large role in the design of the final piece.
Mom is happy to have the minifigures not scattered on the floor and falling down in crevices and Jay is excited to be able to easily manipulate his minifigures!
I started woodworking and furniture building many years ago. One of my greatest joys is creating one of a kind items that are inspired by the beauty naturally inherent in wood. My new shop mascot, Tenaya is in charge of sawdust.
