Tiny Tokyo Apartment Led To My Nail Voyage
Trained in "traditional" fine arts, I discovered nail art when living in Tokyo. I couldn't set up an easel in my tiny Tokyo apartment,so I started painting on nails as kind of a design challenge. I haven't looked back since! I see each nail as a tiny canvas. They are now one of my main mediums, though I still do quite a bit of photography and painting as time permits.
Since I discovered the wacky and wild world of nail art, I've gone to nail school and seminars to improve my craft, and I truly enjoy improving my skills and finding new inspiration.
My work has been featured in Women's Day, BUST, Gothic Beauty, the LA Times, The Blush, The Huffington Post, Nails Mag, Nail Up, Seventeen, A Perfect Ten, and many others!
It is my hope that my clients will enjoy wearing my nails as much as I enjoy making them! <3

Frequently asked questions
How can I measure my nails to get the best fit?
Most of NeverTooMuchGlitter's ready-to-wear nails include a generous 20-24 nails per set to ensure you don't need to measure exactly. No tricky sets of 10 nails here! Get a perfect fit straight out of the package, without filing. Life's too short to sit around and file. ;)
However, custom orders require exact measurements before work begins. I recommend using a dressmaker's ruler and measuring across the natural nail across the widest point. For a step by step tutorial, check out my handy Measuring Guide here: https://nevertoomuchglitter.wordpress.com/ntmg-fake-nails-f-a-q/
If measuring nails is too tricky, I offer sample sets with sizing numbers on the back for a nominal fee. These can be handy before committing to a custom order.
I find drugstore press on nails too large- do you have XS sizes?
NeverTooMuchGlitter specializes in small sizes. I'm proud to exclusively offer petite active length nails made in Japan for the Japanese market. Many of my customers with smaller hands tell me these are the best nails they've ever tried. Just check for listings with "petite active length." No more endless filing and trimming! They are also attached to a "spine" down the middle for easy application.
Can you do men's/XL sizes?
Guys and anyone with larger hands- NeverTooMuchGlitter has you covered! Everyone's welcome at NTMG and I have done many fab nails for every variety of customer imaginable. I may have to do your XL nails as a custom order, but everyone's invited to the glitter party.
Do you take Custom Orders?
Yes, as time permits but around busy seasons (holidays, summer wedding season), I get a large volume of orders. Please plan accordingly and give me as much lead time as possible. Bridal orders in particular will need a minimum of 6-8 weeks. There is a minimum charge of $25 for bespoke custom orders (where we collaborate to make a totally one of a kind design). Minor color or design changes to designs currently in my shop (different shape/base color nail, etc) are available for a small fee. I regret that I cannot copy another artist's designs.
How do I attach the press on nails?
There are 2 ways: adhesive tabs and glue.
Adhesive tabs (double sided hypoallergenic tape) are available in my shop for an additional $1.50 per sheet. Best for:
-Shorter term wear 1-3 days, or just for an party/event
-Gentle on natural nails
-Press on nails may be reused if worn with adhesive tabs
Glue- Nail glue is available in your local drugstore
- Can damage natural nails if not used properly- never pick off the nails!
-Stronger hold than adhesive tabs and waterproof
-Must be dissolved with acetone, which will ruin the press on nails
Contact me if you have questions about which adhesive is right for you.
Are the nails reusable? How long do they last?
Nails are generally reusable if applied with adhesive tabs.
How long the nails last depends on how you use your hands. Lots of typing, texting, dishwashing, etc. can cause stones or decorations to fall off, though NeverTooMuchGlitter's nails are made with the best adhesives available to ensure nails stay looking great for the duration.
For longest wear time, I recommend keeping your hands away from oils and out of water for extended periods of time. Let your partner do the dishes! ;)
Also, applying press on nails that are too small will cause the press-ons to crack eventually. This is a matter of physics and not a nail defect. If in doubt, go a size up when applying. This will help you get the best and most comfortable wear.
Are NeverTooMuchGlitter's nails made with cruelty-free products? Are they vegan?
You bet! Every single element from brushes to decorations to pigments to nail polish is vegan and 100% cruelty-free. I'm passionate about animal rights and any product tested on animals, made by a parent company that does, or is made of animal products will never be used in my shop. Sparkle in good conscience! How soon do you ship? What shipping service is available?
Ready to wear sets (the majority of what's in store) will ship out in 1-2 business days by First Class Mail. (Domestic First Class for US orders, International First Class for international orders). Overnight/Priority Mail upgrades are available for an additional cost if required.
Are NeverTooMuchGlitter's nails in stock and ready to ship, or do I have to wait for them to be made?
You shouldn't have to wait in agony for glittery joy to arrive. All nails (except those in the "Custom" section) are in stock, made and ready to wear. No long wait times for me to make your items.
Do not apply artificial nails if your natural nails are damaged or weak. After application, ensure water cannot get trapped under the artificial nail as this can lead to fungus. If you experience any pain, swelling or itching after wearing nails, remove the nails immediately and seek medical attention if necessary.
When wearing stiletto or pointed nails, be careful as they are sharp and can cause injuries. Do not allow children under 12 to wear nails. Keep nails and any attached decorative elements away from small children as they pose a choking hazard.
