Fun, quality self-care and home-care products made with love in Nashville, TN
Press & Hume is my way to make the products I love and share them with all of you! Established in 2015, after a lot of back and forth, I decided to keep myself accountable and really dive deep. So, here it is: you'll find mainly handmade, 5-free, cruelty-free nail polishes that I love so dearly (and I hope you do too!). We also make the coziest wall hangings using hand dyed and hand spun yarns. And, our newest venture, natural whipped hand lotion in totally unexpected scents - like fig and apple champagne!
I'd love to hear from you so feel free to reach out, leave a comment or feedback.

Frequently asked questions
How long does the polish last?
This is the question I get the most, hands down. And the answer isn't all that simple. Polish longevity depends on the quality of the polish, base coat, top coat, how you apply it, and what you do with your hands. My simplest answer: with the help of a good topcoat, this polish can last up to 6-7 days, which is on par with any other non-gel polish out there.
*How* do you make non-toxic polish?
Luckily, I get my clear polish base from one of the best suppliers out there - and trust me, I've tried a million. They do the heavy lifting when it comes to the actual chemistry. Once I have that, I strap on my gloves and googles, and I mix in vegan micas, non-dye colorants, and solvent resistant glitters to create the perfect colors.
Why should I buy non-toxic/handmade polish as opposed to the drug store brands?
Listen, you can do both! But let me tell you what you're getting with a handmade, non-toxic brand:
- you're supporting someone who is, in all likelihood, doing this all on their own (like me!). Supporting small means supporting the hard work and blood (oh yes) and tears (OH YES) of a small business owner, and that's rad.
- why buy toxic when you could get equal or better quality with non-toxic?? Some of the BEST polishes I've ever used were handmade by other polish makers. That speaks volumes.
