wood picture frames handmade rustic photo frames live edge wood, nature photography
My name is Marv Whealon. My home and shop are located on a hundred acre farm. I've been a cabinet maker for over 30 years, building furniture and kitchen cabinets. The lumber for my projects comes from our own wood lot here on the farm. I have my own sawmill, so everything I make starts right from the tree. I use only dead trees or those which are dying. I will sometimes cut down a larger tree so that smaller ones will have a chance to grow. My goal is to leave this farm in better condition than when I came here 47 years ago.
I live with my wife Jackie, our dog Miss Daisy, a St. Bernard, and several cats. We've been married 48 years. We have one son who has one son. He was raised here on the farm where he learned good work habits, to appreciate the land, and has a love for animals. He's a good husband and father and we're very proud of him.
Beside furniture and cabinets, I make smaller items which I sell at craft shows and markets. I receive many nice compliments about my work at these shows, but the nicest compliment I ever received was when one of my old woodwork teachers stopped by my booth and bought a jewelry box from me.
We have a lot of wildlife here on the farm. A few years ago I discovered trail cameras. For those who don't know, trail cameras are cameras you leave in the woods and are motion activated. So basically, the animals take their own photos.
When I make my frames, I mill the lumber with the 2 natural edges left on giving them a rustic natural look. I put one of my own wildlife photos in each frame. However if you wish, you can insert your own photo into the frame with the 4 turn buttons on the back.
I guarantee all my work, so if you are not satisfied with your purchase, you may return it for replacement or a full refund of the purchased price.
Hope you enjoy looking at my frames. Marv.
All our frames are handmade in our shop which is situated on a 100 acre farm. They are not mass produce but made with care one piece at at time.We apply several coats of finish and then hand polish to a soft sheen.
We have our own saw mill and harvest the trees from our woodlot. We harvest dead or dying trees and sometimes will cut a larger tree so that the smaller ones will grow. It has been and always will be my goal to leave this farm and woodlot in better shape than when I came here.
The photos in our frames were taken on our farm with trail cameras.( motion detection cameras.) We are very fortunate to have a nice variety of wildlife in our fields and woods.
Although I put a photo in each of my frames,it's easy to put your own photo should you wish.
I guarantee my work and if you are not entirely satisfied with your purchase, I will replace it or refund your money to you.
