Sharing cross stitch designs inspired by nature with the world.
I love all forms of string play--knitting, crochet, and weaving. But the first craft I ever learned was cross-stitch, and it's what I always come back to for comfort-crafting.
As a child I loved looking through my mother's drawer full of pattern booklets, deciding what project I wanted to tackle next--what I could manage on my own, what I might need her help with. Even as an adult, I still can't manage french knots well!
It's disappointing to me that most of the patterns available in retail stores are basically the same as they were twenty years ago, and don't speak to the way that I or my friends like to craft. I invested in pattern-making software and was pleased what I came up with on my own. I hope you find my work a refreshing change of pattern pace.
Most of my patterns start from public domain images. I edit liberally and push colors around until I'm satisfied that the finished piece will be fun to work and look stunning when finished.
I know the intimacy that develops between a sewer and his or her project. Every nuance, every shadow, every detail becomes a labor of love. I aim to make patterns that hold a bit of mystery, a bit of subtlety, that will connect a crafter to the piece long after it is finished.
