The Beady Little Eye Designs
Welcome to my humble abode! 😂
I'm glad you have found your way to my little Etsy shop, where I sell beading patterns and my hand knotted mala necklaces and bracelets.
My name is Elisa, born in 1988 in the rainy Netherlands. I'm a stay at home mom of 2 and a girlfriend to a QHSE officer (and my benefactor haha) who works off and on for 4 weeks at sea. This is where you will read about me and my shops ♡
It all started back in 2012,...
I wanted something to do and preferably something creative! I had beaded a few years before and quit because of other things in life. It just wasn't the right moment and I didn't really feel happy with what I was making at the time.
I picked it up again after finding a few good bead shops in the USA and my jewelry story began.
Then I got preggers with my lovely Zooey ♡ (born 2013)
As my belly grew, I couldn't sit at the table anymore so I had to find some other way to keep busy with my beading. Enter Beadtool 4! When beading I mostly made Peyote and Loom bracelets, so I thought, why not design them myself? This is when I opened my first shop, The Beady Little Eye. Here I sell my beading patterns and a small amount of other handmade jewelry. The story continued and...
I got pregnant with lovely Megan! ♡ (born 2015)
Still being a stay at home mom, but my boyfriend landed a job at sea for 4 weeks off and on, I needed (still do) some serious ZEN time!
With 2 kids on the loose and no time on my side I surely couldn't have my beads lying everywhere, so peyote and loom beading (or basically anything that takes longer than 3 hours) were out of the question.
Then, I spotted this gorgeous necklace on Pinterest (don't you just LOVE Pinterest) and thought, well I can do that! I googled all about malas, lay outs, amount of beads etcetera, bought some beads and voilá, my first mala was born!
Laying out the combinations and the knotting give me peace of mind, that little me-time I need so bad. I just string the beads on the cord, put on Netflix (almost as good as Pinterest) and knot away. Making malas is my get away of the daily hectic life of having 2 very busy girls. When I put my works on Instagram, getting all the praise, it just makes my day ♡ To increase my zen-ness I also recently started yoga. When you can't even pee alone, having these two things just all to myself, means a great deal to me 😂
Lately I have been venturing back and forth between making jewelry and designing peyote and loom patterns again.
There, that's my story 😊
With my designs I try to make something special, something that is not only beautiful to wear, but beautiful for your soul too.
Owner, Maker, Photographer
Hi! I'm Elisa & all the things you see in my shop are designed, beaded, knotted, photographed, listed, packed & shipped by me! I'm a 27 year old stay at home mom of 2 girls, from the Netherlands and making and designing beaded jewelry is what I love♡
Zooey is my eldest and my 'assistant'. If she doesn't like it, it is not happening 😂
This little munchkin right here is my youngest, Megan ♡ Now and then she will thoroughly test my malas by dragging them through the room and dropping/throwing them around. Toddler proof!
