Camp Follower Bags and Quilts
I started making my Camp Follower Bags and quilts back in 2005. My husband and I were stationed at Ft Hood, Texas. He was getting ready to deploy back to Iraq and I was getting ready to get out of the Army. I needed something to do to keep my mind off him being away and something to calm myself after chasing my tiny children around during the day. I took up quilting and I have loved every second of it.
Making and selling bags for fellow military wives has been a blessing for me over the years. It is a fairly easy business to pack up and move all over the globe as the Army wills it. I have a website www.campfollowerbags.com where ladies can select the style bag they would like me to make. They send me their husband's uniforms and select fabric from my vast collection. I can quilt favorite quotes into the straps of the bags, and I can control each and every artistic detail that makes up my truly one of a kind bags.
My business has expanded over the years and my sewing machines have increased in number as well. I teach quilting and sewing wherever I live and I have had a great time meeting new people.

After I got out of the Army Nurse Corps, I needed something to keep myself busy while my husband was deployed. I took up quilting and I haven't looked back. I love to sew, it is such a peaceful and productive craft to practice.
