Inspiration is everywhere...don't forget to look! At our NEW location, 98 Virginia in Downtown Seattle!
We at Undercover Quilts understand that when other people compliment you on a quilt, a covering for the new addition or a wall hanging, they’re actually praising your storytelling abilities. Because when you transform that fabric, you embellish it with your heart, your soul and your story. You are a storyteller. We want to help you tell your story. Everyone has a unique and interesting story to tell.
Ours begins with Owner Linda Hitchcock’s childhood fascination with antique quilts. She collected and sold antique quilts at national antique and craft shows for years. In November 1990, when there were only a handful of quilting shops in Western Washington, Linda opened a downtown Seattle shop, selling new and antique American-made quilts. In 1993, she expanded into a full-service fabric store adjacent to the historic Pike Place Market. We are downtown Seattle’s only quilt and fabric store.
After 25 years, we have found a great NEW storefront at 98 Virginia. Please stop by!
I have been passionate about the art of crafting for many years. In 1990, I opened a quilt and fabric store in downtown Seattle. I’ve never met a quilt I didn’t appreciate.
Team Member And Quilt Maker
I have made close to 500 quilts, including baby quilts and wall hangings. In 2011, for my 70th birthday, I made 70 preemie quilts (24”x 30”) for donation to the neo-natal unit University of Washington Medical Center
Team Member And Hand-quilter
I have been a quilter for more than 35 years and with Undercover Quilts since 2005. My passion is for brightly colored ethnic and folk art quilts and one of the dying breeds of hand quilters.
Betty designs a line of patterns and quilted pins under the name Pieced Together. She has been an enthusiastic member of the Undercover Quilts family since 1998, and has designed our Western Washington Shop Hop Block every year since 2001.
