After my degree as a textile designer from the prestigious National Institute of Design (NID) in 1992, I took up a regular job of a textile designer in an export house. In 1997 I quit my job & started freelancing but focusing only on home furnishings export industry. Since work was coming in, I started adding more people and started my design studio by the name of “Vaishali Design Studio”.

From January 1997 till October 2010 i only focused on the design studio where we serviced a client's design requirements. Steadily the wish to design & develop products that I like started to dominate.I wanted to make what I felt was good and not what a cleint’s brief would dictate and i started my own brand VLiving and opened my shop on Etsy.
Sales started to come in and i gradually started to see growth. Etsy is not just a market place, it is a community and it gives me a great sense of belonging.
I was very encouraged and decided to open up another shop where i extended my original business of design studio to retail.
Till now i have only been servicing exporters and importers and opening a shop would again set me free from client's brief bound design. This was a very tempting thought and so here i am selling to one and all who may find my work buyable.
