Growing Luxury Fiber: Lovely Pygora® Goats
We have a small family farm, and raise Pygora® goats for their wonderful fleece. Our Pygoras have minimal chemical intervention, and their fleece is gently processed into roving or yarn without the use of harsh chemicals.
We began with direct yarn and roving sales from our farm and at local consignments shops, and have developed a small, appreciative following of local hand spinners. We're reaching out to a larger audience - and it's exciting to see we're not the only Pygora fiber sellers on Etsy!
If you know what cashmere, mohair, angora and alpaca fibers are like - dehaired Pygora has a wonderful and unique balance of those luxury fibers' traits! We'd love to share this yarn and roving with you, and will send small samples if requested.
You can see more photos of our friendly fleece growers, learn more about pygora fiber, or see other pygora projects at our farm website: www.gunplainpygoras.com.
Shady Creek Farm Jenny
Maker, Herd Matriarch, Gun Plain Pygoras
Shady Creek Farm Jenny was one of our first 2 Pygora® goats, purchased in August 2002 at the MI Fiber Festival. She is now our senior staff member, 1 of 25 Pygora fiber growers. At age 15, her fleece is not as long, but is still fine and lustrous!
Accepted payment methods
I prefer my customers pay with PayPal. Orders paid by check or money order will be held for 2 weeks until payment has cleared.
All orders must be paid within 3 days of purchase. After that, I will cancel the sale.
I ship USPS First Class Mail in a bubble mailer, USPS Standard Post for small boxes, or by USPS Flat Rate box for larger orders, and items will be shipped within 1-2 business days after purchase.
I will do Priority shipping or add additional insurance if you are willing to pay the extra shipping cost - convo me for an actual cost. I will only pass on my charges! (As of December 2013, insurance for up to $200 USD would add ~$5.00 USD)
If a shipping destination is suspicious, I reserve the right to cancel the sale.
