Helping cover holes in your wall since 2007.
Graphic designer Jenny Be-ork-rem (hence "Ork" Posters) is the creator of the original typographic neighborhood map design. She began back in 2007 by designing a Chicago map for herself, developing the now famous-ish Ork style. She thought she could make a few extra bucks by selling her new Chicago maps. She then added a few other cities, learned to screen print and listed them for sale on etsy. In late 2007, she experienced the "Swiss Miss effect" after her Brooklyn map was posted on the popular design blog, Swiss Miss (not the hot chocolate). After a successful holiday season, she was able to quit her full-time design job in early 2008 and work on Ork Posters full time. Ork now offers over 15 U.S. and international cities and Beorkrem continues to work on new designs so more and more people can show their love for their favorite cities. See the full line up at orkposters.com.

Select products (unframed Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, Great Lakes, Heart, and Brain posters) shipping to Canadian addresses ship via Canada Post instead of USPS First Class Mail International. These orders are processed once weekly (Tuesday afternoons) for Wednesday shipment. All other international orders containing an unframed poster ship via FIRST CLASS mail and do not always offer tracking information. Some framed items ship via Priority Mail International. International shipments require a 7-21 day or longer delivery time. Oftentimes, international packages are delayed by customs when entering a foreign country, PARTICULARLY TO CANADA, FRANCE AND AUSTRALIA. Please note that packages entering other countries may be subject to customs clearance and duty fees according to that country's import policies!
Returns and exchanges
- Custom or personalized orders
Ork Posters accepts exchanges and refunds within 14 days of receiving the order so long as the product is in like-new condition. The poster or print MUST be returned in the original packaging to ensure that it will return to us without being damaged. Please re-roll it VERY carefully and slide it into the polybag. Put the polybag in the tube. Add packing paper on the end if the poster does not reach the end of the tube. Secure the end caps and tape over top of them.
It is the customer's responsibility to pay for all shipping charges to and fro for returns or exchanges, unless Ork has made an error in the order. Ork highly recommends purchasing a tracking service when returning any packages to Ork. Include a note indicating what the return or exchange is for.

Poster vs. Screenprint
A screen print is made using a stencil process in which the print's image is superimposed on a very fine mesh screen. Ink is then squeegeed through the screen onto the paper. The result is a less exact print than the professionally printed posters, but the non-professional look of screen prints has become a significant cultural aesthetic. The ink on the prints is thick enough to see a slight bit of depth (and can be felt), whereas on the professionally printed posters, the ink soaks into the paper and is flat. Our digitally printed posters are printed by an employee-owned press here in Chicago, and screenprints are done either by us in our studio or by other printers in the city.
Custom and personalized orders
We don't do any custom posters or screenprints. However, we do offer custom canvases. You can find more info about that here: http://orkposters.com/canvas.html.
We do not offer digital downloads of our graphics. We sometimes do license the images for various projects - send us a message with your idea.
In addition to the kid's tees and onesies, we keep a limited inventory of t-shirts for many of our cities (and the Great Lakes, Heart, and Brain). Adult shirts are $20. Send a message if you're interested!
